Understanding AXI OUTRUNNERS
Each AXI motor has a 6 digit numbering system. For example: 2208/34. The first two numbers (22) represent the diameter of the stator (the fixed part in the middle of the motor) in millimeters. The second two numbers (08) represent the length of magnets (attached to the rotating case) in millimeters. The third set of two numbers (34) represents the number of wire winds, also called turns.

When comparing the motors within any series (2208, 2212, etc.) there are several characteristics that you will notice. Motors with higher winds spin slower for every volt of electricity applied, they have a lower Kv (RPM/V). They spin a larger propeller at slower speeds and at a lower current than low turn motors. Motors with lower winds spin faster for every volt of electricity applied, they have a higher Kv (RPM/V). They spin a smaller propeller at higher speeds and at a higher current than high turn motors.

To determine the motor for your model: analyze the character of your airplane, is it sleek and fast, or a slower plane with a lot of drag? For the high speed airplane a low turn motor that spins a small prop fast would be the right choice. For a Trainer or Biplane with a lot more drag, a high turn motor that can spin a much larger prop and produce a lot of thrust at low speed is what you want.

For airplanes 3.5 to 9 oz.

For SPEED 400 size planes 7 to 18 oz. but much more power than SPEED 400
AXI 2208 Outrunner Brushless - Tiny high torque motors for models weighing up to 17 ounces. 3.2mm hardened steel shaft is supported by 2 ball bearings.

For bigger SPEED 400 size planes 10.5 to 28 oz. but much more power than SPEED 400
AXI 2212 Outrunner Brushless - Small high torque motors capable of spinning large props in SPEED 400 to 600 size models weighing up to 28 ounces. 3.2mm hardened steel shaft is supported by 2 ball bearings.

For SPEED 480/500 size airplanes, but provides much more power
AXI 2217 Outrunner Brushless - Small high torque motors for models 21 to 50 oz. flying weight. For 18 to 30 amp controllers.

For airplanes 21 to 46 oz.
AXI 2808 Outrunner Brushless - High torque motors for models weighing up to 52 ounces. 4mm hardened steel shaft is supported by 2 ball bearings.

For airplanes 35 to 67 oz.
AXI 2814 Outrunner Brushless - These 4.6 ounce motors will fly 4+ pound model airplanes with authority! 4mm hardened steel shaft. Swing large props without a gearbox.

For airplanes 35 to 88 oz., hotliners to 55 oz., and ECO 8 helicopter
AXI 2820 Outrunner Brushless - Outrunner motors for models weighing up to 88 ounces. 5mm hardened steel shaft. High torque motors that will swing large props without a gearbox.

For hotliners to 70 oz. and fast .40-.46 glow to electric conversions to 96 oz.
AXI 2826 Outrunner Brushless - These are the same diameter as the 2820 motors but are longer and have higher torque because of their 26mm magnets. Will fly 4.5 to 6.5 pound airplanes.

For airplanes from 70 to 141 oz., props to 14" diameter
AXI 4120 Outrunner Brushless - Large diameter outrunner produces extremely high torque. Will fly airplanes weighing up to 105 oz. and sailplanes up to 158 oz. 6mm hardened steel shaft supported by 3 ball bearings. Can be mounted radially.

For airplanes from 106 to 247 oz., props to 18" diameter
AXI 4130 Outrunner Brushless - Very high torque motors capable of spinning very large props in sport aerobatic models of 10-12 lbs. and sailplanes up to 16 lbs. Extremely high torque. 6mm hardened steel shaft supported by 3 ball bearings. Can be mounted radially.

For giant scale planes to over 20 pounds!
AXI 5320 Outrunner Brushless - Very high torque motors capable of spinning large props in sport aerobatic models to 15 pounds and sailplanes up to 22 pounds. These are larger and more powerful than the 4130 series motors. The hardened 8mm shaft is supported by 3 ball bearings for a long service life.

For giant scale and F3A planes to over 20 pounds!
AXI 5330 Outrunner Brushless - Very high torque motors capable of spinning large props in sport aerobatic models to 15 lbs. and sailplanes up to 22 lbs. These are larger and more powerful than the 4130 series motors. The hardened 8mm shaft is supported by 3 ball bearings for a long service life.

Custom double motor for large scale airplanes!
AXI "5330/20 Double" Outrunner Brushless - For use with 2 - 10S Lithium Polymer packs and a 24x10" wood prop. Fly scale airplanes up to 33 pounds! Motor mount is between the 2 motors. The two motors come ganged together to drive a single prop. Can also be used to drive 2 propellers in a counter rotating setup.

Fly 20 plus pound airplanes better with electric power!
AXI 5345 Outrunner Brushless - Very high torque motors capable of spinning large props in sport aerobatic models to over 20 lbs. and sailplanes up to 48 lbs. These are larger and more powerful than the 5330 series motors.

Direct drive a 30x20" prop for large scale airplanes!
AXI "5360 Special" Outrunner Brushless - For use with 10S Lithium Polymer packs and a 30x20" wood prop. Fly scale airplanes up to 33 pounds! Motor mounts to a firewall. Massive front bearing provides the stability to spin a huge 30" wooded propeller.
